This collection varies significantly in difficulty level, which makes it great for students who are quickly progressing.But, the book also lays out a "suggested teaching order" that gives you a feel for how difficult any given piece is.It also has a variety of different styles within the overarching category of "American Modern."There's a song with palm and arm clusters and a fabulous Crumb piece as well.The notes are easy to read and the editing good.(There editor introduce each song with some historical background and helpful hints about learning and playing the piece).Overall - a Great Choice if you're looking for a survey of American Modern solo piano works.
