Easiest Book of Piano Favorites [Plastic Comb] Review

Easiest Book of Piano Favorites [Plastic Comb]As a New York School music educator, it is refreshing to find a book that contains many styles of music easy enough for a beginning student to play. This book edited by Amy Appleby contains 125 easy piano arrangements. They are written in easy keys that sound so professional. The repertoire in this book would appeal to all levels. There are selections from the most well-known Baroque composers such as Bach and Handel, Classical composers such as Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart, Romantic composers such as Brahms, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Tchaikovsky, Modern and Impressionist composers such as Debussy, Dvorak and Saint-Saens. Then the biggest surprise is that after you've played through all of these masters, you have 3 marches by John Philip Sousa, 3 waltzes by Johann Strauss, 13 selections from scenes from the ballet and opera, 18 songs from other lands, 9 holiday songs and then the book concludes with golden hits by George M. Cohan, Stephen Foster and several others composers. Many of the songs have words for those who wish to sing along. The book is attractive and easy to read. It is bound with a plastic comb so there is no bending of the binding to make the book stay open. The notes are not squashed together making it visually pleasing. I would recommend this very reasonably priced book as the perfect gift for the piano players in your family.
