The Piano [Paperback] Review

The Piano [Paperback]This buy was MOST definitly worth the purcahse. I'm obviously a huge fan of Nyman's but i was blown away by the notes he writes on page. THE PIANO sheet music only contains 6 songs, and two of them i have already commited to memory, and its only been 2 weeks. In fact, all of the songs except DEEPSLEEP PLAYING are on the soundtrack. The sheet music seems to have about 10measures not contained on the soundtrack somewhere, but all of the mainthemes in the sheet music are on the soundtrack. Learn THE HEART ASKSPLEASURE FIRST, i have never had so many compliments playing song beforeuntil i learned this one. It's worth it.

Product Description:
Six original compositions for solo piano, by Michael Nyman, from the award winning film by Jane Campion. English composer Michael Nyman has developed into one of the most popular, if not important, composers of film music, and his film score for the 1992 film the Piano is without doubt the most famous and familiar of his compositions. The tone of Campion s film is perfectly emphasised by Nyman s style and though much here is beautiful and rich, it is a haunting and foreboding sound picture that reflects the greys of sea, sky and spirit.

Piano Concerto No. 3 in D Minor, Op. 30 (Kalmus Edition) [Paperback] Review

Piano Concerto No. 3 in D Minor, Op. 30 [Paperback]I bought this piece of sheet music after my teacher recommended it as a 'good piano competition piece.' I had already worked on most of Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto (also very difficult) and the third movement of Mozart's 17th concerto.I would definitely not recommend getting this piece if you don't have a MAJOR desire to learn it as it is very difficult. However, the piece is extremely beautiful, and technically showy (which is why it is a 'good competition piece') - probably my favorite piece of sheet music at the moment.I have been playing piano for 12 years and would consider myself fairly advanced - but I still anticipate it taking at least 6-8 months to learn this piece, and that's practicing it up to and about 1 hour per day.Rachmaninoff wrote a masterpiece and it is considered today to be one of the most beautiful and difficult piano concertos, up there with Tchaikovsky's 1st.This edition has a limited amount of fingerings, but it is easily readable and not over-edited like some editions.I wholeheartedly recommend it but will warn you again not to attempt to learn it unless you have a strong desire to do so.

Simply Beautiful Piano (Ekay Edition) [Paperback] Review

Simply Beautiful Piano [Paperback]This book fully deserves its subtitle "easy to play arrangements that make you sound great". The chords are sophisticated but easy on the ear, and the songs are standards usable in many cocktail piano settings. Piano Concertos Nos. 1, 2 and 3 in Full Score [Sheet music]The Rachmaninoff Piano Concertos are among the hardest ever written. This book does a good job of showing the composer's intentions. Its inclusion of the ossia version as well as the simplified version of the solo parthelps the reader to compare the two. Also, the orchestra parts are easilyread and well spaced. There is never too much or too little on one page. It is a great book for conductors, pianists, or anyone else who loves theRach concerti. This is a must have for any serious piano concerto fan!

Piano Stylings of the Great Standards, Vol. 2 [Paperback] Review

Piano Stylings of the Great Standards, Vol. 2 [Paperback]The arrangements are not technically difficult, but they have lots of accidentals and various rhythms that require close and careful reading. Fortunately, the publishers have produced a beautiful volume, with large, almost oversized, easy-on-the-eyes printing set on heavy paper in a lay-flat binding. In other words, the book itself is as elegant as the arrangements it contains. Also included are the original sheet music settings.

The Fellowship of the Ring Movie Soundtrack Piano, Vocal, and Chords (The Lord of the Rings) (Pvg) [Paperback] Review

The Fellowship of the Ring Movie Soundtrack Piano, Vocal, and Chords [Paperback]This collection of songs from the soundtrack of the movie 'The Fellowship of the Ring' is a definite gem. The songs, in order, are 'In Dreams' [words and music by Fran Walsh and Howard Shore], 'The Prophecy' [text by J.R.R. Tolkien], 'Aniron' [words by Roma Ryan, music by Enya and Nicky Ryan] 'A lament for Gandalf' [text by Philippa Boyens], 'Many Meetings' [music by Howard Shore], and 'May it Be' [words by Roma Ryan, Music by Enya and Nicky Ryan]. Inside, there are also lots of beautiful pictures from the movie. This is a beautiful accompaniment for the soundtrack. The music is for 'piano, vocal, or chords', but other instruments could play along. I would DEFINETELY rate this 10 stars, only the limit is 5. I recommend this music for anyone who loves music, Enya, or The Lord of the Rings.

David Lanz - Collection (Piano Solo Personality) [Paperback] Review

David Lanz - Collection [Paperback]I have been taking piano lessons for over a year and I find these songs to be very fun to play.Don't be scared off by the "new age" label on David Lanz's music; if you love the piano you'll love what he conveys with his songs.I especially love playing "Dark Horse," "The Firedance Suite," and "Dancing on the Berlin Wall."These songs are mostly triplet based, so they are easy to learn and sound great.Even though I struggle with easy Mozart peices I find Lanz's songs captivating and a pleasure to learn. There are a good range of peices to learn in this book, from the tender "Return to the Heart," to the bombastic rhythm of "Dark Horse."A great book of music to have in your collection, whether you are at a level to see them as a challenge, or to play them easily. They are guaranteed to please.

Fiona Apple - Tidal (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Artist Songbook) [Paperback] Review

Fiona Apple - Tidal [Paperback]This is the most used songbook I own, probably because Fiona Apple writes some incredible piano parts. The unique syncopations and rhythms that she wrote for Tidal are preserved and written in her piano score for the album. It's a refreshing change from other contemporary musicians who water down their music by releasing easier versions of their songs. So, while her music takes slightly longer to learn because of the wacky rhythms, it's definitely worth your time (and cash). Get it!

Casio AP420 Celviano Digital Piano with Bench Review

Casio AP420 Celviano Digital Piano with BenchAfter years of playing my Yamaha DGX-500, I was looking to upgrade my digital piano to something that had graded hammer action, that would look nice in my living room, and that sounded as close to an acoustic piano as possible.I also wanted to spend around a thousand bucks. The Casio AP420, seemed to fit the bill, and having played other Casio digital pianos in my local music store (PX800, PX330, AP200), I was fairly confident in making this purchase from Amazon, sight-unseen.

The mangled box arrived in less than a week, looking like it had fallen off the truck or had been used for target practice.I was almost afraid to look inside.Fortunately, the engineers who designed the packaging did a marvelous job.Every piece was removed from the box in perfect condition.Assembly of the piano was not difficult, took less than an hour, and really did require two people.

The cabinet of the AP420 is quite attractive.I like the sliding keyboard cover, and the faux front legs of the piano, which really make it look less like a keyboard and more like an actual piece of furniture. The pedal board is quite solid, and the action of the brass pedals is firm. The included bench is built like a tank.I'm a rather big guy, and the bench easily supports my weight. The bench is height-adjustable, which is nice, but there is no way to store music inside it.The modesty panel (the back of the piano) covers all but about a 1 inch gap across the top.The gap is visible only when looking at the rear of the piano, or bending over and looking under the keyboard.Having no visible gaps in the back panel where you can see through the piano, helps give the illusion that the piano is deeper than it really is, making it look more like it's in an actual cabinet. One negative point, the music stand is not hinged. Rather, it has two pins that are inserted into holes in the top of the piano. The music stand feels sturdy enough, but the way it attaches seems kind of cheap.

The action on the AP-420 is very nice. The key surfaces (texture) have an ivory feel to them, rather than a cheap plastic feel like most other digital pianos (including some that are WAY more expensive). The action is solid, the keys don't wiggle, and the overall feel is as close to an acoustic piano as I have encountered in a digital. Now, there is a slight 'thump' sound when the keys are fully depressed (seems to be a Casio DP trait), even when the keys are played with just moderate force. This is slightly annoying, but is not really noticeable when wearing headphones, or when the volume is turned up.

The sound quality of the piano samples is probably my chief complaint. The 2x20W built in speakers/amplifier provide ample sound, which is clear, and undistorted. But the piano samples sound slightly muffled to me.This could be because the speakers point downward out of the keyboard sending sound waves directly into my carpeting. There are some attractive fabric-covered 'ports' on the left and right sides above the keyboard that I assume are there to allow some passive speaker sound emanate from the top side of the keyboard. But from what I can hear, 95 percent of the sound comes from the bottom. When playing through headphones, the piano samples sound quite a bit better. The brightness/timbre of the tones is adjustable, but the piano samples seem to take on a 'tinny' sound if adjusted from their default setting.Overall, the piano sounds are not bad; they're just not quite as good as I was hoping for.

One other nitpicky thing: There are only 7 buttons to control all of the the piano settings. For most options, you have to hold down the function button, and then locate the appropriate key on the piano keyboard to set/change the option. Some options are lightly labeled above the keys.Others (like reverb, chorus, tuning) are unmarked, and so you have to look in the manual to find out which keys to press.Fortunately, once you have configured the piano the way you want (pitch, reverb, touch, brightness) you can save your settings, so that it will remember them the next time you turn it on. (Unfortunately, the 'save' key isn't marked either, so you'll have to look that one up in the manual.)

Some other nifty things I like:
- SD card slot for saving midi recordings, or loading midi files.
- Adjustable reverb
- Three level adjustable touch response
- USB port (note that this piano does not have an actual MIDI port.If you need to interface with a MIDI device, you'll need to get a USB to MIDI adapter.)
- Layering of sounds (play strings and piano at the same time)
- Split keyboard (i.e. play string bass with left hand, vibra-phone with right.)
- Duet Mode (splits the keyboard into two equal pitch ranges for playing duets that might otherwise require two pianos.)
- The pedals support 'half-pedaling'
- It has a true sostenuto pedal (only dampens notes that are pressed prior to pressing the sos. pedal.)
- Two 1/4" stereo headphone jacks.
- Two 1/4" mono right/left line out jacks

I've rated it 5 stars since fractional stars aren't allowed. My personal rating is more like 4.5 stars, so I just rounded up.When looking at the features and quality, I don't think there's anything else on the market in this price range that even comes close to this instrument.I hope you enjoy yours as much as I like mine.

Haydn composes in a wide variety of styles. He is always experuimenting. As one plays through this collection one sees the evolution and maturation of one of the world's greatest composers. Though these sonatas appear to be "small," they show the thinking of bigger comcepts, i.e symphonies, quartets, etc. Extemely rewarding and enjoyable to play! Jazz Piano Concepts and Techniques [Paperback]It may seem like this book will teach you how to play Jazz if you see the title "Jazz Piano Concepts & Technique".But its really a book that teaches you how to harmonize and play melodies that you see infake books ( fake books are books w/ songs inside that provide only themelody and the name of the chord ).The purpose of this book is to helpyou harmonize the chords in the right way and actually play the song justby seeing the melody and the chord name. This book doesn't teach youImprovising scales, modulation, or any skills needed to play jazz by ear orby feel and improv. Its a book that helps you harmonize chords. A goodbook though.

Favorite Piano Classics [Paperback] Review

Favorite Piano Classics [Paperback]Worth every penny--Great book for your piano literature collection.I have already been sitting at the piano sight-reading alot of the pieces I didn't already know.
My one warning--the print (as in all Dover editions) is a little more difficult to read than more expensive publishers' print.I bought the book for a student who is a beginner reading music and I decided to keep it for myself because I want her early reading experiences to be with very easy to read print--then after a couple of years, maybe struggle with this.I have found this to be true of all my Dover editions, they're great to get your hands on a large volume of music and are definitely worth the price no matter how hard they are to read---but I've had to get better printed copies of pieces that I'm really working on for performances

Complete Piano Sonatas [Paperback] Review

Complete Piano Sonatas [Paperback]This edition of Scriabin's piano sonatas is another bargain from Dover, with clear print and sturdy binding.Their source is a reprint of a Russian edition, published in Moscow (1964), and not editions that date back to the composer.I mention this because there seems to be a misprint in the "Funebre" movement of Sonata No. 1: compare m. 5 on page 23 with the third measure from the end on page 24 -- the passages are otherwise identical, but the left hand on the third beat is different (although harmonically acceptable). One is likely incorrect. That said, Ashkenazy and Laredo play it as written, so who knows? Finally, to the reviewer who wondered if the Sonata No. 1 is complete -- it is.The "missing" movement from the Contents page (the "Funebre" mentioned above) begins on page 23.It's all there.

The Music Tree: A Plan for Musical Growth at the Piano : Time to Begin [Paperback]I got this cd to help my 7 year old with his practice.I was surprised at how fast the pieces were played. The accompaniment had a fun sound, but went much faster than he can play. Most songs on the cd are only about 5 seconds.

Starting with off-staff notation, it leads the student to reading direction and intervals, and climaxes with the discovery of the Grand Staff. Also included is a carefully designed program of rhythm, technic and creative work. The cassette features electronic renditions of the music: it offers the accompaniment alone, or both the student's and teacher's parts. The Teacher's Handbook is an invaluable tool. This volume contains essays regarding how students learn, on technic, and how rhythm is presented. Teaching aspects are discussed, and suggestions are offered for each unit of the book.

Exploring Jazz Piano - Volume 1 (The Schott Pop Styles Series) [Paperback] Review

Exploring Jazz Piano - Volume 1 [Paperback]I've bought several books on improvising jazz piano and this is by far the best. It's a heavy, well bound book (my binding has not come apart), which could explain it's $40 list price tag. The book itself is worth $40, even if it was looseleaf!

I agree with the previous reviewer that Richards quickly covers basic chord theory, but that's what convinced me to try this book. Since I've been studying jazz theory (trying to learn to improvise) and have a fair level of knowledge, I didn't want another book that introduced chords and basic ii V7 I progressions. There's some excellent books on jazz theory out there - try Bert Ligon's books for the most thorough, and challenging, course on theory. I wanted a book that would teach me how to sound like my favorite jazz pianists.

To improvise jazz, you need a thorough command of chord voicings and progressions, and then an ability to improvise scale patterns against a strong left hand rhythm. Many books give examples of those components, but only give a few basic exercises and vague verbal instructions on how to apply them to a song. I have the knowledge needed and I can play great sounding chords and progressions, but I have not been able to play a respectable improvisation and haven't been able to find any real guidance up until now.

What makes this book different--and excellent--are the numerous exercises that show you how to apply the techniques presented in the lessons. Richards' book gives several etudes and exercises in each chapter to help you develop those skills. He offers excellent improvising suggestions and examples for each etude, and shows how to apply them. In addition, he provides 4 or 5 authentic jazz tunes in each chapter - from standards to bebop and all styles - and, again, offers detailed examples and suggestions to apply the techniques presented. In addition, the tunes and drills present various left-hand styles with an emphasis on latin styles.

If you can play piano at a late beginner or early intermediate level, and have a basic knowledge of chords, then you'll get a lot out of this book. If you're an experienced player and know chords thoroughly, this book - and the Volume 2 book - will help you improve and give you excellent training in improvising.

I first bought volume 2 thinking that volume 1 would be too basic for me. But after working with vol. 2 for a week, I decided to buy vol. 1 after all. I know all the theory in volume 1, but the exercises and drills provide so much excellent instruction in playing left hand rhythms or basic chord voicings against a right hand improvisation, that I don't feel that I'm wasting my time with elementary concepts.

The cd that comes with it provides an opportunity to play along with his band. However, the tempos are fast. If you have a keyboard or piano with built in rhythms, you'll be in better shape. You'd definitely want a metronome if you don't have built in backgrounds, so that you can practice slowly and work up to the finished speed. Band in a Box is a great software program that provides some excellent backgrounds to practice with.

Tim Richards is the best teacher - and on top of that a great jazz pianist. He and I are going to be tight for a long time.

Bebop Jazz Piano: Hal Leonard Keyboard Style Series [Paperback] Review

Bebop Jazz Piano: Hal Leonard Keyboard Style Series [Paperback]I have a few of the other books in this series and find them all great! John Valerio is a wonderful composer and teacher and has a very similar style to Mark Harrison (another composer in this series). This book includes important information about chords, voicings, harmony, chord progressions, scales, tonality, melodic figures and patters, comping, characteristic tunes, styles of Bud Powell and Theolonious Monk...anything that is used in any type of bebop jazz. It goes through the history and evolution of Bebop. The book moves quickly but provides the information that is important. It comes with a very handy CD which allows to hear what it's supposed to sound like. I highly recommend this book and have found that using it with some of the other books in the series is beyond helpful!

The Pop Piano Book [Paperback] Review

The Pop Piano Book [Paperback]This could be a very good technique book as well for people who want to learn popular piano if it is read and used carefully.
He has an abundance of technical exercises in rhythm patterns, which is something that cannot be gained from Hanon, the king of technical exercise books.
Many teachers are not very good at teaching popular piano, instead preferring to reinterpret it as classical music (which is not appropriate given its different rhythm patters and key signatures--often less complicated than those in classical). This was written by a man who teaches popular piano and has a very clear idea of the rhythm patterns that make that unique. For example: He makes extensive use of the tie line and syncopation in his examples of R&B, which is what one finds in real music of this genre. But it is very hard to get that type of practice if learning classical songs.
As it has been noted before, the binding for this book sucks. But there are ways to get around that.
Also: This seems to encompass almost everything in other basic theory books that I have read/ own.It has actually obviated my other theory/ rhythm books. It will be a good saving of money to invest in this before any others.
Finally: The book CAN be used by beginners (in tandem with learning some scales) if it is used as he recommends. He says in the opening pages that it was written/ designed to be used by people at myriad levels.

Complete Star Trek Theme Music: Piano Solo (Piano Solo Vocal Selections) [Paperback] Review

Complete Star Trek Theme Music: Piano Solo [Paperback]This is book of piano solos featuring Star Trek themes. It has all the television show themes through "Star Trek: Voyager" as well asthe movie themes through "Star Trek: First Contact." Incidentally, those two pieces are my favorites. The "FirstContact" theme in particular sounds very nice on the piano, and I haveplayed it numerous times.
I am very pleased that this was offered as apiano solo edition. Many contemporary themes/song books are typicallyinundated with repetitive chords. But I think the arrangements in thisbook are very enjoyable to play.
The proficiency required to play thepieces is probably best described as intermediate.However,beginners/novices may find the "Deep Space Nine,""Voyager," and "First Contact" themes within theirgrasp (and worth playing as well; I personally dislike "big note"or "easy piano" editions of anything).
I guess it's pretty mucha foregone conclusion that if those who like playing the piano and like"Star Trek" will enjoy this book.So if you fit that category, Ihighly recommend this book.

Aladdin (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) [Paperback] Review

Aladdin [Paperback]I know 7 songs might not seem like a lot, but these songs are all great and pretty good length. Disney is known for its magical songs that put you in a trance. Disney songs are known mainly to target kids, but also are so creative and musical that adults can't help but admire the beautiful works of the Disney classics. Aladdin was one of my favorite childhood movies, and the 90s was the best years for animated Disney movies hands down, and the music in these movies made them more even more memorable. Aladdin songs have an Arabian vibe to them, making them unique sounding. Friend Like Me is an up beat and cheerful song sung by Genie, prince Ali is more of a traditional sounding Arabian song with sort of a Disney vibe to it, and the most famous in this book, A Whole New World, is a slow duet between Jasmine and Aladdin. I think buying this book at full price new is a rip though, you're only getting 7 songs for $15, so if you can find this book for $5 or less, then buy it.

Piano Lessons Book 4: Hal Leonard Student Piano Library [Paperback] Review

Piano Lessons Book 4: Hal Leonard Student Piano Library [Paperback]Well, the musical journey continues after a two year hiatus. For whatever reasons, my daughter decided to stop piano in the fall of 2005 and now has returned to piano in the fall of 2007. She had been working through Book 4 of this lesson plan and, to my astonishment, dove right back into the book as if she'd never left. You can attribute this to youth, memory, retention ability, whatever, but I think the lesson plan proves itself by this sort of feat. Her fingers know where to go, she remembered 99% of the notes, she recalled swiftly how to play the songs she'd learned 2-3 years ago. So now we're making our way through Book 4 to Book 5. Her fondness for the program showed itself tonight as she was leafing through several of the complementary solo books and telling me how good the tunes were and that I should play them (I'm taking an adult course by book while she's doing this course). This Hal Leonard course is a terrific series for kids and young teens (my daughter is 13 now). It obviously taught her well in the past, it made the piano lessons stick, and it continues to hold her interest in the present. Once again, this series is highly recommended. With her overnight comeback, it's definitely proven itself as far as I'm concerned.

Maran Illustrated Piano [Paperback] Review

Maran Illustrated Piano [Paperback]For all the many self-help, how-to books published The Maran Family has polished the book-led guide to learning to a fare-thee-well. This well-conceived and very well written book is an excellent introduction to the joys of sitting down in front of a piano keyboard and actually creating music instead of fantasies.

As one of the maranGraphics books (others include such wide ranging topics as Weight Training, Computer Guides, Dog training, Guitar, Yoga, and Knitting and Crocheting!), this volume uses the technical consulting of Frank Horvat, a composer, performer and piano teacher, and then applies the approach to the keyboard in a highly visual series of photographs and schematics that begin a survey of the types of keyboard instruments, the history of the piano, and progress to the basics of what makes a piano make music and ultimately walks the willing student through a very sound technique of learning.

As a life-long pianist I am amazed at the facility developed in this beautifully designed book. For those who question learning to play the piano by a 'how to' book, just peruse the careful steps and clarity of instruction offered by this helpful guide.Much musicology is included and many examples of fine piano music are used in the lessons.Whether it is the classical route you wish or the popular medium of chord based music or the intricacies of blues and improvisation, the steps are here.At the end of the book is a fine discussion on how to choose your piano from the many types that exist and even a discussion on the various periods of piano music history (although brief these are succinctly to the point).

Terrific for the adults who moan 'if I'd only taken lessons as a child' as well for the young students who are willing to commit to the goal of learning to 'make their own music', this Illustrated Guide to the Piano is a solid source of didactics. And for those addicted to the computer, there are even "MP3 files available to listen to and play along with for all the chords, scales, exercises and practice pieces in this book."Truly a book for the 21st Century!Grady Harp, June 05

Art of Piano Playing [Paperback] Review

Art of Piano Playing [Paperback]I read somewhere that if you can take one good idea away from reading a book, consider the experience a success. Call me greedy, but I expected more practical advice from "The Art of Piano Playing". The author's intent is to show how the central nervous system plays a primary role in the learning/performing process. He makes his case with an historical survey of earlier schools of thought concerning piano technique that, according to the author, culminated in an impasse in the early twentieth century. As scientific research into brain functioning progressed, the tools were now in place to make a case for the neurobiological basis of piano technique. What this boils down to is, essentially: 1) the aural image one creates in the mind of a musical composition is paramount and the urge to recreate that image will drive the learning and performing process. 2) practice slowly to establish and engrain neurological connections. 3) be flexible in your technique regarding fingering, arm position, etc. 4) the most effective learning is accompanied by intense concentration.
I've simplified, but this is what I walked away with. Unfortunately, the author spends more time justifying his theoretical argument than describing the practical application of his ideas. The book was written in 1967 when perhaps these thoughts were more radical. If you're intrigued and enjoy a heavy scientific bent, this book might be for you, but if you're looking for detailed practical advice on piano technique, I'm afraid other authors have done it better.

The Best Jazz Standards Ever (Easy Piano Songbook) [Paperback] Review

The Best Jazz Standards Ever [Paperback]Some of the more popular tunes in this compilation are A night in Tunisia, Satin Doll, Sophisticated Lady and All the things you are. Missing out on classics like Take the A-train in lieu of several rather obscure tunes that aren't exactly Jazz standards, by my measure, is the book's greatest flaw. For the beginning to intermediate jazz student, its a nice book to own. All the songs are full arrangements and not too difficult to play. Advanced pianists will probably be happier with a nice, solid fakebook.

Chopin: Album for the Piano [Paperback]Ever since my first G. Contemporary Music Theory - Level Three: A Complete Harmony and Theory Method for the Pop and Jazz Musician [Paperback]I've played music for years, and now that I'm retired, I wanted to understand more about what I was playing.I picked up Mark Harrison's Contemporary Music Theory Book level 2 and made my way through it.I was stunned to find that I had been instructed incorrectly on several points. That was one reason I purchased the book.I wanted to clean up some confusion I had with theory. Now I've just finished the level 3 book.Mark Harrison's books are structured with achievable learning steps. His lessons are followed up with exercises after the chapter to reinforce concepts taught in the chapter. The answers follow the exercises. This is greatly appreciated because it gives the reader immediately feedback. The reader can check the answers, and if there was an error made, the reader can go back and correct any misunderstanding before moving on.If you want to learn more about music structure and harmony, these books are an excellent source without having to go through music theory classes. The lessons are clearly written out and understandable. These books provide the reader with skills so they can not only understand the movement and progressions of chords, but be able to substitute chords in any key for harmonies they may want.Mark Harrison is an expert. This is the best set of theory books that I've ever seen.

Based on Stephenie Meyer's popular vampire-romance novels, the movie Twilight is taking huge bites out of box office receipts across the country! Composer Carter Burwell is highly regarded for his scores for the Coen brothers movies. Here are piano solo arrangements of music he composed for this film, including the achingly beautiful 'Bella's Lullaby' and ten more pieces: Dinner with His Family - Edward at Her Bed - I Dreamt of Edward - I Would Be the Meal - In Place of Someone You Love - The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb - Phascination Phase - Stuck Here like Mom - Tracking - Who Are They?.
