The Easy Piano Christmas Collection [Paperback] Review

There are many easy piano Christmas/holiday books out there today...but none are as good as this one. Why, you ask? Well, for one, there is the name Bill Boyd. If you are not familiar with this name, shame on you. Mr. Boyd does amazing things with very few notes. His easy piano arrangements are some of the most full, complex sounding arrangements around. The other reason why this book is a must have, the hlidays come once a year, I only play about, oh, once a year. So, even though I can read fairly well, I just do not practice like I should (now shame on me) and the easy piano arrangements are perfect for people like me.

Mannheim Steamroller - Christmas Celebration: Piano Solo (Piano Solo Songbook) [Paperback] Review

This music is awesome!The beautiful Mannheim Steamroller sounds and beats come to life through this book.The unit I purchased was spiral bound by the seller, which I think is an absolute necessity with these pieces.Some pieces are 8 pages long, with CODA's and repeats.It makes life so much more simple just having it spiral bound.If you cannot find one spiral bound, you can have it done at a local copy center.Also note that this is the REAL sheet music, and not some easy big-note piano!Be sure you are advanced enough to play these songs, or you won't like it.They are hard, but so beautiful!

This is a very interesting edition of the 15 Alfred Burt Christmas carols.It includes not only the original music and lyrics, but also images of the original greeting cards which were sent out between 1942-54.Burt died too soon at the age of 33, and included in this book are writings by his wife Anne which tell about the carols and her life with Alfred.Many people already know "Some Children See Him," "Caroling, Caroling," and "The Star Carol," but "All On A Christmas Morning" and "Come, Dear Children" are just as great.Burt was the son of an Episcopal rector, but he was also influenced by jazz, so you find both hymnody and modern harmonies in his work."The Star Carol" is not only his masterpiece, it is also one of the greatest carols ever written.
