The latest in the Keyboard Play-Along series provides excellent, accurate transcriptions of some great rock songs. The approach in these books is, in general, to arrange the keyboard parts for one player. In other words, if you were the lone keyboard player in a band, but were faced with playing a song that had multiple keyboard parts, what would you play? These transcriptions do a great job of addressing that real-world need. There are some exceptions; for example, the sequenced parts of Baba O'Riley are shown in all their glory. On Carry On Wayward Son, they show both the organ and piano parts, but only the one that is more prominent at any one time, which makes sense.The CD is an excellent addition, too. The backing tracks have everythingbut vocals, and they sound great. Any cover band could aspire to be as accurate as these backing tracks are! The slowdown software makes it a great learning tool, too.
